No one understands the language of painting like Phoenix. She continually expands artistic vision, bends traditional beliefs, and explores the unconventional with her commitment to the world of abstraction, her preference because of the freedom it allows. Through her work, she explores colors and forms and how they interact to create harmony and tension. "I am stimulated by working with the pure elements of color, shape, texture and line and the ways they interface. Not having to be tied to literal representation lets me explore these elements so the work can develop a life of its own," Phoenix says.
