Nature is Lee Carlson's palette. He grew up in an Eden called the Pacific Northwest, and attended the University of Oregon, where he was introduced to the worldwide art scene. There, he was influenced by such masters as Hartley, Matisse, De Chirico, and Warhol. A natural talent, Carlson's inspiration comes from the great outdoors. He transforms his fascination with flora into precise and wild, untamed details in his work, using harmony and balance together with a vibrant color palette. "My paintings are an attempt to express the same sense of intoxicating beauty as wildflowers," says Carlson.
