Cecil Peacock's work is about beauty redefined, recaptured, reimagined. Beautiful women and beautiful moments created from bursts of brilliance that color his imagination and transform blank canvases into resonant depictions of his art. Elegant, stylish women serve as Peacock's muse - whether they're society women in expensive hats or girls next door strolling down San Francisco's Powell Street. Inspired by Schiele and Klimt's sensual lines, de Lempicka's elegant stylization, and Bouguereau's sublime draftsmanship, Peacock's outer expression comes from his inner passion - for painting, for art, for life. Born on a horse farm outside Louisville, Kentucky, in his youth, Peacock filled many sketchbooks with drawings of horses and the fashionable women of The Kentucky Derby. He made money by selling his best drawings at the Derby to the women he drew before the races, and he and his brother would use those earnings to place their bets.
