Eskimos, ice, and art. Growing up in Alaska, Worth was drawn to painting to escape the bitter cold. Today, he still lives in Alaska, but his paintings are heating up the art world. Haynes has been influenced by the color theory of Johannes Itten, and the application of color and the transcendent optical effects created by his layering and juxtaposition of color."Color is important in my work. It captures the essence of beauty and movement. Color also becomes a way to convey temperature. Living in Alaska, there is very little day light, so my work acts as a refuge from the darkness. My work is a way of joining polar opposites," Worth says. An imaginative use of color, light, and a passion that burns bright.
