Shirley Williams has been a professional painter for more than 15 years. She currently works in a large warehouse studio in Windsor, Canada Her paintings have been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions across Canada, Michigan, Texas, Florida and New York. In addition to numerous Public, Corporate and Private Collections, major international projects include site-specific commissions for a private jet lounge, and an award-winning 127-foot yacht in the Virgin Islands. She considers herself a process-oriented painter with a focus on the intrinsic energies of color and organic form; Shirley paints on the floor and on tables, falling into the energies of the earth, tuning in to the natural forces surrounding our planet. Working in multiple layers of acrylic paint over time, color is poured, dripped, spread, and scraped in thin veils to achieve visual depth and tactile surface. Learn more about Shirley.

Humans are the only known living creatures that have the ability to see the full spectrum of color. Each color has its own language and personality, which Shirley Williams loves to explore. Her inspiration to paint comes from her sensitivity to the energetic color frequencies all around us especially in nature. Williams is inspired to make the invisible energy of color visible through her art. Core Brick explores the variations of red. Each of the nine images represents the core of a single energy cell of a specific color combination. Each core-cell is unique yet still part of the same family. Together, they create an exciting visual vibration.
