Working in multiple layers of acrylic paint over time, color is poured, dripped, spread, and scraped in thin veils to achieve visual depth and tactile surface.

Humans are the only known living creatures that have the ability to see the full spectrum of color. Each color has its own language and personality, which Shirley Williams loves to explore. Her inspiration to paint comes from her sensitivity to the energetic color frequencies all around us especially in nature. Williams is inspired to make the invisible energy of color visible through her art. Core Indigo explores the variations of blue. Each of the nine images represents the core of a single energy cell of a specific color combination. Each core-cell is unique yet still part of the same family. Together, they create an exciting visual vibration.
