As a child, Paulson's father taught him how to hold a paint brush. As an adult, he traveled through Europe, studying classical artists, and in the process, discovered his own unique style. Paulson employs an unexpected use of texture to achieve a lasting impression, and his primary subject matter is still life. "I enjoy experimenting with different mediums, and for me, art has always meant discovery," he says.
