FAQs

Many customers ask the same questions — we’ve got a handy list of answers.

Questions About Ordering

How does the free shipping program work?

It’s simple. If you live in the continental United States, your purchase (including extra-large artwork) will ship free. If you live in Alaska, Canada, Hawaii, or Mexico, you will be charged normal shipping rates and billed as a separate transaction after the order has shipped.

What if I have a PO BOX or military address for my ship-to destination?

Our shipping partner requires a physical address, residence, or business. If necessary, we can ship to a family member or friend’s address.

How are returns handled?

We have a 30-day return policy on all art products. If you are not satisfied with your item for any reason, you may return it for a full refund. Be sure to hang on to the box and original packing materials until you know you’re satisfied. If you would like a quote for your return from our FedEx account, please email returns@gallerydirect.com with your order number and the item you would like to return.

No return authorization number is needed. Please include a copy of your packing slip or order confirmation and ship it via FedEx, UPS or USPS. To ensure resolution, please return the item via a trackable method. We will issue a refund for the purchase after we receive the piece, likely within 7-10 business days.

What if my item goes on sale shortly after I purchase it?

We know it’s frustrating when you see a better deal. We’ve got you covered with our Promotional Price Guarantee. If you find a lower price on Gallerydirect.com for the same material, size, and frame combination within seven days of your purchase (or during a promotion that started within seven days of your purchase), we will honor the price difference with an in-store credit. Please call 800-455-3211 for all such transactions.

Questions About Framed Art

Am I ordering a giclée?

Giclée prints are part of the modern artisan tradition of fine art reproduction, which began in 1798 with lithography and includes serigraphy (silk screening), first patented in 1907. Giclée (pronounced "zhee-clay") is French for "spraying" of ink. This is a widely-used industry term, but it's a little obscure to many of our customers, so we don't use it much. The answer, however, is "yes." Gallery Direct reproduces framed wall art and canvas artwork as giclée prints on canvas or paper.

What is the difference between canvas wall art and framed wall art on paper?

Our archival inks sink richly into the paper. As a result, the image gains warmth and depth. An image reproduced on canvas is more vibrant and photo-like. Canvas also gives you a greater array of sizes.
