Many customers ask the same questions — we've got a handy list of answers.
Can I cancel or make changes to my order?
You may change or cancel an order within 24 hours. Please contact us and have your order number ready. Unfortunately, we are unable to:
What if my item goes on sale shortly after I purchase it?
We know it's frustrating when you see a better deal. We've got you covered with our Promotional Price Guarantee. If you find a lower price on Gallerydirect.com for the same material, size, and frame combination within seven days of your purchase (or during a promotion that started within seven days of your purchase), we will honor the price difference with an in-store credit.
Am I ordering a giclée?
Giclée prints are part of the modern artisan tradition of fine art reproduction, which began in 1798 with lithography and includes serigraphy (silk screening), first patented in 1907. Giclée (pronounced "zhee-clay") is French for "spraying" of ink. This is a widely-used industry term, as you may already know. So, yes Gallery Direct reproduces framed wall art and canvas artwork as giclée prints on canvas or paper.
How do you work with the Artists?
We are committed to supporting working artists through our mission to bring their work to wider audiences. Our Art Director, Nick Nichols, works with professional artists whose work sells in galleries. To review art, Nick requires our artists to submit high quality images of current and past work with full captions, artist statement and a complete CV. We work directly with the artist to make it easy for you to access their artwork.
What is the difference between canvas wall art and framed wall art on paper?
With art on paper our archival inks sink richly into the paper giving the image warmth and depth. A giclée print on canvas is more vibrant and photo-like.
How are you different than the other guys?
We've built our reputation by discovering incredibly talented artists and making their work available exclusively to our customers. As a result, we are the largest limited edition fine art publisher, printmaker, and artisan framer in the world. We proudly do all our printing and framing in our Austin, Texas facility with environmentally friendly materials.
